Yu had put up a measly 10,000 units on sale this week, and as mentioned above they went out of stock in about three seconds. The sale was however anything but smooth. Users complained about the site crashing, and phones disappearing from the shopping cart before payment. Additionally, a technical glitch on the website showed the phone’s price to be Rs 12,499 instead of the Rs 8,999. The company apologized for the glitch , and is investigating the matter.
To recap, the Yu Yureka has been launched in India for Rs 8,999. As for specifications, it flaunts a 5.5-inch HD IPS display, and is powered by a Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor with 64-bit capability and paired with 2GB of RAM. The smartphone also features 16GB internal storage that can be further expanded using a microSD card.
Furthermore, the smartphone also features a 13-megapixel rear camera, 5-megapixel front-facing camera, and a 2,500mAh battery. On the software front, it runs on CyanogenMod OS 11 based on Android KitKat.
